In the summer of 2020 - in the midst of a global shutdown, Alexander and I were asked to consult on a project for our friends at Mediacom Creative Systems ( the burgeoning in-house creative division at Mediacom - part of WPP’s Group M ) . The project would eventually become a state of the art, beautiful 15 minute virtual, animated concert celebrating Pokemon’s 25th Anniversary starring Post Malone - (directed by Jason Zada & Mediamonks)

As Alexander oversaw the technical build of the concert, I was tasked with creating excitement for the event by producing a bait&switch teaser that would (have) premiere at the Grammys. Big budget & Celebrity aside, our country - and LA in particular- was in the midst of an unprecedented lockdown, for the second time in year just as we were headed to shoot our spot. Through sure will, luck and PCR Rapid testing, we were able to safely capture and create a beautiful piece of film, filled with super-fan Easter eggs, celebrity cameos and otherworldly transformations. Working with Partizan’s Antoine Bardou-Jacquet (master of animation meets live-action) + JammVFX - Stills from this shoot would provide media assets, as well as analog & digital collateral for the month leading to the show - creating millions of impressions and even more excitement.
