Capitalizing on 90’s Nostalgia and McD’s fandom came crashing together in my role in the viral return of Grimace and McDonald’s celebration of his eponymous Birthday! I was responsible for building a 8 bit video game built on the Nintendo Gameboy platform for fans around the US (and eventually the world!)
Working with the amazing creative minds of retro gaming studio - Krool Toys - we designed a multi level gaming experience that capitalized on McDonald’s IP, reintroduced beloved characters and created a fun, modern narrative as to why Grimace was back!
…but the best thing we did - we released the games’s ROM for all the world to make it their own - this allowed the internet to go CRAZY . Lets just say the gamers LOVED IT. Tons of discord servers, TikTok challenges, hardware and software hacks (Its own Wikipedia page)… and lets not even talk about the shakes!
